If something is good, only in comparison to something else, is it really good?
Ex: Chik-fil-a fries, are better than Burger King's.
So, are the fries really good? Or is just that they're better than something else?

It can only be determined if something is really good when it is evaluated by itself and not compared to anything else.
ex. If you never had Burger King's fries, would Chick-fil-A's fries still be good to you?
But is that how we really operate? We use other instances as barometers which to measure against. Sex, is really the first thing that comes to my mind (so naughty, I know, LOL). We can have good sex with one person, then have great sex with another (then realizing, the previous sex, was just ok), then have MIND BLOWING sex with another (and that will discount the previous encounters).
I guess the level of goodness is relevant to the measurement at that time, cause you never know what the future can bring.
