too practical for romance...

Can one be too practical for romance? Can you be too serious for infatuation? Practical can be defined as "of, relating to, or manifested in practice or action: not theoretical or ideal ". So can we be so rooted in actual actions, that you overlook the ideal of romance? If so, how can you change it?
