"obsession with curl pattern. either you have it or don’t. been there, done that, got the tee shirt. again, we gots to keep it moving and work with you were born with. stop shingling and giving yourself tendinitis and early onset arthritis trying to get your hair that probably has no curl to curl. curls are pretty and so are no curls so let it do what it do."

This right here, every single thing.
I am sooooooooooooooooooooo tired of girls with very blatantly thick, gorgeous, kinky, nappy hair talking about "I got curls". No boo boo. You don't. You have highly textured, coily, kinky, nappy hair. And there is nothing wrong with it. What is wrong is making "curls" the new standard of beauty like some people feel like straight has been made the universal standard for beauty.
So instead of gobs and gobs of relaxer to straighten out those kinks you apply gobs and gobs of Miss Jessie to turn those kinks to curls? Things that make you go hmmmmm.
How about you get to know your hair, straight, short, grey, nappy, curly, fine, thick whatever, accept it and love your hair, straight, short, grey, nappy, curly, fine, thick whatever.
These delusions of grandeur in hair conversation is wearing my nerves through and through.
